Doing research is easy (ish). Doing the right research is harder – and it should be.
If you want a sense of what it’s like to work with Method + Mode, know that we dive deep and ask some tough questions – before we even get to the research part.
Three things I always ask clients when starting a new engagement:
1) What are you trying to learn? Articulate your goals.
“Doing research” is not an objective, it’s a tactic. Define what you’re trying to prove (or disprove!) and what success looks like, so we can build an approach that serves those goals.
2) Who is this research for? Identify the audience that will “care” about the results.
From thought leadership that drives lead gen, to storytelling that secures funding, contextually relevant INTERPRETATION is crucial. Without a narrative, you’ve just got some numbers. Which brings us to…
3) How will you share the takeaways – where will results live? This is about deliverables.
Research results are meant to be shared; internal intel needs to be socialized, public-facing insights need to be discoverable. Having a sense of your distribution strategy early on in the process ensures the message fits the medium.
What do you think – is having deep business context a recipe for success, or a date with distraction?
