Customer Insights: Product Testing, 2020

As an early-stage skincare brand with industry disrupting packaging and formulations, Exponent needed feedback from prospective users prior to market launch—not only to assess product efficacy, but to gauge appeal of innovative form factor.

We designed an in-market, self-administered, multi-day product trial with 15 target customers, leading the initiative end-to-end, from developing trial guidelines and managing tester recruitment, to creating journal prompts and product evaluation forms, and analysis.

KEY OUTCOMES: Helped founder prioritize formulation changes and product rollout plan; Identified elements of product packaging to highlight in marketing communications
